Overview
ksak is a privacy-first personal finance tracker. We believe your financial data belongs to you, not us.
Data Collection
Local Mode — No Account
- ALL data stays on your device
- We collect ZERO information
- No analytics, no tracking, no data transmission
- Your transactions, balances, and settings never leave your phone
Cloud Sync Mode — Optional
Information we collect:
- Email address (for authentication)
- Financial transaction data (amounts, categories, dates, currencies)
- Account information (account names, types, balances)
- App settings and preferences
How we use your data:
- To sync your financial data across your devices
- To authenticate your account
- To provide customer support when requested
- That's it. We never use your data for advertising or analytics
Data Storage
- Local data: stored on your device using secure iOS storage
- Cloud data: stored on Supabase (AWS infrastructure) with encryption at rest and in transit
- All data transmission uses industry-standard HTTPS/TLS encryption
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data. Period.
We may access your data only in these circumstances:
- You explicitly request customer support
- We're required by law (we'll notify you unless prohibited)
- To prevent fraud or security threats
Third-Party Services
Authentication
- Google OAuth (if you choose Google sign-in)
- Apple Sign-In (if you choose Apple sign-in)
- Supabase Auth (for email authentication)
These services have their own privacy policies. We only receive your email address.
Exchange Rates
We fetch currency exchange rates from a public API. No personal information is transmitted.
Payment Processing
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We never see your payment information.
Your Rights
- Access your data (it's always visible in the app)
- Delete your data via Settings → Delete Account
Data Retention
- Cloud data: stored until you delete your account
- Local data: stored on your device until you delete the app
- Deleted data: permanently removed
Security
- Optional 4-digit PIN lock
- Face ID / Touch ID support
- Encryption at rest and in transit
- Regular security updates
Children's Privacy
ksak is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to This Policy
We'll notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.
Your Choices
- Use local mode: zero data collection
- Use cloud sync: minimal data collection for functionality only
- Delete account: complete data removal
